TEE, helical CT, or MRI: Comparing diagnostic accuracy
The July 10th issue of Archives of Internal Medicine featured a cover
diagram comparing traditional and novel risk markers for
cardiovascular disease. Beyond risk markers, the family of minimally
invasive imaging techniques including transesophageal echocardiography
(TEE), helical computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI). Using the power of published data, a group of
anesthesiologists from Toho University Ohashi Medical Center, Tokyo,
Japan created a meta-analysis, pooling compatible data from sixteen
