Diagnostic Paragraph. (Wal-Mart)
When I came here to the U.S. in last august, I had to bring the
minimum luggage from Korea because of the limitation of the baggage.
But I have to start my living in a single apartment. So I needed to
buy many things for my eating, wearing and sleeping. From this reason,
the thing that I have to do first was to visit some store. But, of
course, the person who came here just now had no idea about the
American store. So I started to ask about that problem to every
American. Everyone recommended that I go to "WAL-MART." There was no
exception. That was the first meeting with Wal-Mart and me.
The first impression of Wal-Mart was just `Huge'. Although I knew that
this store has all of the stuff that I need, I could not find where it
is. For getting 10 items, I had to spend more than 3 hours. After
shopping, I felt almost exhausted. But on the other hand, I realized
that I started shopping to be addicted Wal-Mart. Owing to convenient
one-stop shopping, I can look up all of the stuff whatever I want. So,
I bought the stuff even when I did not need it. We can call it an
impulsive purchase. However, I didn't need to feel it seriously
because the refund system in Wal-Mart was not much more picky and
difficult than Korea's. Due to this reason, I could get a refund
whenever I felt that it was useless for me. It was big difference
between Wal-Mart and our country's shopping center. In a Korean
shopping center, the returning policy is very strict and difficult.
The stuffs' package should be maintained as it was as first. So as for
me, the easy policy of Wal-Mart makes me feel free to buy the items.
I know that the current Wal-Mart has a lot of problems, not only
because of the business ethics but also because of the demonstrations
from the activists who disagree with expanding the business. But I
think that nobody can blame Wal-Mart if they feel satisfaction with
Wal-Mart's price offer, because I believe that the disagreement and
blame are from the practice. But I know that there are several bad
